Week 15

Sorry I skipped a week, DH and I were on the road to Virginia from California (and our mental health is just fine thank you). Nothing really amazing happened baby-wise in week 14 so I promise you didn't miss much. But I will make it up to you by posting more pictures later this week.

How far along: 15 wonderful weeks!

Maternity clothes: Nothing new but I am loving my sweat pants and yoga pants.

Sleep: this week has been pretty good for sleep except for last night. I just couldn't find a comfortable position, I think I flipped and changed spots at least a dozen times.

Best moment this week: DH and I went out on an impromptu date night to this lovely Italian place in Fredericksburg for dinner. The architecture was gorgeous and the food was great. Just getting to sit down, talking, and being together was exactly what I needed.
Then, a few nights later, we went to see my little sister-in-law play at her band concert. She had a solo and ROCKED it! After we all went to Rita's for a post-concert snack/dessert. All in all a wonderful week!

Movement: I love how every once in a while I get these twinges in my lower abdomen, it's the baby stretching out! Little One does this at least once a day, usually in the evenings after dinner.

Food cravings: Nothing odd or strange but I want sugar more and more, especially chocolate.

Belly Button: Still an innie and I don't see that changing any time soon.

What I love: I love curling up in bed at night with DH and putting both our hands on my belly.

What I miss: I miss having our own place. We are looking for a house right now and I can't wait to cook dinner in my own kitchen and go to bed in my own home!

As soon as Mom e-mails me the photos she took I will be able to post them! So keep coming back to check for them

Week 13

Just a little inside info: 13 is my favorite/lucky number so this week should be great!

We are finally packed! I can't wait for our POD to get here so we can start to load that sucker. It is also my final week of classes, however, I will still be participating in class online.

Now for the Pregnancy update:

How far along: 13 Weeks!!! WooHooo!

Maternity clothes: I'm waiting untill we get settled in VA before I get any more, but I can definately tell i will be needing some soon!

Sleep: Every morning, like clock-work, I have gotten up for the sole purpose of going to the bathroom. The amazing time that our bundle of joy has chosen to wake me up every morning? 6 am. bleh 6 am and I don't work out well.

Best moment this week: It doesn't have much to do with the baby but it was the best moment this week. Einstein (our dog) sits and stares at you lovingly if he wants anything. So he sat infront of me and stared for a good 10 mins. before I let him up on the couch to snuggle with me. And guess what, it wasn't me he wanted to snuggle with, it was the belly!

Movement: Nothing yet, unless you count the clock-work bathroom runs.

Food cravings: S'mores! Chocolate! The sour/tart Easter shaped candies! So basically sugar. : )

Belly Button: Still an innie, but the belly is growing.

What I love: being done with the packing! I don't think I've said it enough yet .... We're done!

What I miss: Home cooked meals, we packed all of our dishes and cooking pans, plus the fridge is empty. We are making a trip to Sprouts on Wed. to pick up road trip snacks though.

Sorry, no picture right now. I'll post one as soon as I can.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter sunday no matter what you were celebrating!

Week 12

This week, because that gorgeous baby bump has decided to show up, I am going to start doing weekly updates! I have to admit that this was not an original idea of mine, I stole it from a friend (shhhh and many thanks to Kayse). I am going to try to put up pictures of my ever-growing belly as the weeks go on and hopefully give you some interesting baby facts and updates as well!
Here it goes!

How far along: 12 weeks

Maternity clothes: bought a few shirts and 2 pairs of jeans, then Mom came to town and I got treated to a few more items : )

Sleep: I am a champ! And by champ I mean boxing champ. DH (Dearest Husband) has woken up multiple mornings and had bruises or sore muscles where I have apparently kicked/punched him! (sorry honey!)

Best moment this week :Two moments really: 1) We saw our baby kick the heck out of the ultrasound wand and watched as he/she turned over and basically wiggle through the entire ultrasound. That's going to be one active kid. 2) DH looked at me the other night and wrapped his arms around my belly. It finally hit him, I think; we are having a baby!

Movement: Nothing that I can feel but we saw how fast our baby can move with the ultrasound.

Food cravings: Bread. Bread. And more Bread. Preferably the hot, fresh loaves from Panera. Yum

Belly Button: Still an innie.

What I love: Packing while pregnant! Just kidding, I love laying down in bed at the end of the day, resting my hands on my belly and imagining how amazing this child will be.

What I miss: Oh there is not enough space to list all the things I have packed away right now, I miss having a clean apartment, a fully stocked fridge/kitchen, etc, etc.
But mostly I miss having a smaller butt : ) A bit vain of me, I know. Oh well.

It's a Baby!

We went in for our first ultrasound today and I am so happy to announce that it's a BABY!!! The first image we saw was our energetic child kicking the heck out of the placental wall, and that kid can kick! Unfortunately I can't feel a thing yet, but I know that once our amazing baby is bigger I'm not going to get a moments rest. Pictures will be up as soon as I can figure out how to work the scanner again.

Hooray for Easy Visits!

I went to the first appointment on the 30th. Everything went so well! It was just to get me registered and to get some blood drawn, so no big deal. The registering nurse was super nice and easy to talk to, and the nurses in the Lab were amazing to me! I'm not a big fan of needles (I don't know anyone who is!) but the nurses took great care of me, giving me water and helping me out of the chair. I got a little dizzy because I have low-blood pressure, but other than that we did awesome!
We have another appointment to get the test results from the blood work next week. I'm crossing my fingers and hoping that I will be as healthy as I think I am and no serious problems arise.
